I guess you are writing this from the US is that right? Well if you are, it's not great news because they are only two airlines flying direct from the US to AUS and that's United and Qantas. Qantas holds about 70% of the market so they do the price they want and United just follows.
If you want something cheaper you'll have to go either via Canada and Hawaii or via Asia perhaps with Japan Airlines, Cathay etc.

Hi all you need is your passport, no photos, bank papers or anything. Just show up with your passport pay $15 bucks and u get the 2 entry stamps right after u get off the plane at the airport....not a bad idea to go to your local bookstore and buy a tour book on Egypt, and read thru it. Or search the internet here and there for articles. Have a nice trip

Never entertain or ask to be entertain by people as more likely they will SCAM you with sweet talk.
If you are in Cairo get HYATT as this hotel is beside the NILE and the view is breathtaking... El Kalili is a Divisoria type place, EL Azar is a park that is very nice at night and ofcourse the Pyramid of Geza about 20 - 30 minutes ride from Hyatt hotel.

There are a lot of Chinese people spending this kind of money on airfare every year. The asian airlines offer special sales to Chinese travel agents so you can try calling up a few of them in Toronto. By the way, check on how long you can stay on your visa. I thought you could only stay one month or 3 months? Also, prices will come down in September, so if possible, buy a one-way at about $800, then come back at a lower fare. Run your itinerary through Booking Buddy, then break up the trip at Miami or Orlando, and try JetBlue (or whoever is cheapest) to Florida, and from Florida try German airline LTU to CR, or Dutch airline Martinair. Those two often have very good deals in the off-season.

There was a time when you could go standby and get really low cost seats but with the changes in airport security that is no longer possible as you need your ticket before you can get through security.

So when I first booked our flight it was $480. Since then I have caught a lower rate twice and am now paying $350 with a $130 southwest credit to use on our next flights. I don't think you can do this on any other airline or travel website, normally you are stuck with what you book. Also, on Southwest, checked bags are free where every other airline charges $23+ each way for checked baggage.

Websites like kayak.com, sidestep.com, expedia.com and orbitz.com all search multiple sites and airlines for cheap tickets.
However there are some airlines that I have found that do not show up in these search engines. Jet Blue and SouthWest to name a couple.

However there are some airlines that I have found that do not show up in these search engines. Jet Blue and SouthWest to name a couple.

I've stayed there twice and they are great value for money, truly one of NYC's best kept secrets, SHHH don't tell everyone LOL :-) I've inc the link to it and trip advisor which has many reviews of the apts and other hotels in NYC. It also has flight searches and info/advice

I get free unlimited travel on my airlines even though it is standby, you have access to the number of people on the flights so it isn't that bad. I get 8 guest passes per year. 2 family members went to Hawaii last year for $230.
Also airlines have agreements with other airlines to fly standby for cheap. ($20-30).
If you live in a city that is a hub for an airline. They are probably hiring. They don't pay all that well but I only work 20hrs a week, if that.

None of the airlines mentioned by the other respondents actually fly into EDI (did they actually bother checking?! Nope - just here for an easy 2 points!) the only one I know of which does is EasyJet. A sensibly timed departure from LGW costs 拢65pp and the return 拢60pp. Total: - 拢125pp.
2x拢81 - 拢162 - saving 拢88 (if you have railcards this saving increases to 拢142).
If you're thinking of flying because it's quicker - you're only saving a couple of hours - do you really want to add 100kg/hr CO2 to the environment?

I have traveled a lot in the past 5 years and travelocity.com is the easiest and cheapest I have found, but sometimes if you call an airline like northwest or jet blue, it can be much cheaper, especially when you are purchasing without much advance notice. Some day's can be much cheaper than others, like flying on Wednesday's. NWA.com actually has some hints on their website. And if you can fly on them they can be very competitive. Good Luck!

1) Travel at the off-peak hours - business travelers will always travel first thing in the morning and the early afternoon. Those flights are always going to be more expensive.
2) Try to fly Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays - again, business flyers will tend to book on the other days meaning higher ticket prices.
3) Research your destination and find the off season when less travel to that area occurs and ticket prices drop.

I'm planning to go to Florida with my mum on the 4th of July until the 11th. But I can't find any flights cheaper than 拢450pp.

The reason why you're seeing the prices increase for your specific dates is because you're trying to fly during the busiest travel period of the year (the Christmas and New Years' period). You will, in all likelihood, not be better off waiting to purchase your ticket -- airlines realize that this is an extremely high-demand period and have little incentive to reduce prices.
Your best options right now are either to buy the ticket you want or see whether moving your travel dates a little will help. (I'd venture that the date that is causing your price to go high is the January 2 return date -- a Sunday immediately following a holiday is usually very busy and more expensive. Moving that date to the 3rd, for example, might result in a lower fare.)

You will in all likelihood have to pay in full when booking.

Using these you can access a range of flights with airlines like Emirates, Lufthansa, KLM, Air France and so forth who will get you to India via their hub (Dubai in the case of Emirates). this quite normal and you will be able to change planes there and carry on to your Indian destination. Heathrow and Gatwick will offer more chances of direct flights though.

Just type in to your search engine

and take it from there.
Use a general search engine such as www.travelsupermarket.com or www.cheapflights.co.uk or www.expedia.co.uk.
You can then fill in the boxes with the relevant information of where you want to travel from and to and when you want to go and return. They will generate a list of possible options. Check some of these out and then cross reference the price they offer with the official website of the airline you are thinking of flying with. Make sure you specify the same date and so forth.
You will need a credit card or debit card to purchase the flights.
You will in all likelihood have to pay in full when booking.
When you book you will be given a confirmation number, keep a record/printout of the confirmation. Most flights these days are electronically ticketed which means you don't actually get a paper ticket issued. All you need to do is present yourself and your passport at the correct airport and airline and they will have you on their computer. (I always make a printout so I have some written proof just in case - never needed it though).
Irrespective of whether you book through the airline direct or a third party you should get onto the airline's website and join their frequent flyer club. It is free and can give you access to the ability to reserve the seat you want on the plane. Emirates Airlines have a frequent flyer club called Skywards and members can access their booking and make seat reservations, change them, order special diet meals and so forth. You also accrue points which can be exchanged for free flights or upgrades in the future.
I don't know where you live but I find that Heathrow and Gatwick are a pain in the neck and I prefer to fly from a local airport like Birmingham or Manchester. Using these you can access a range of flights with airlines like Emirates, Lufthansa, KLM, Air France and so forth who will get you to India via their hub (Dubai in the case of Emirates). this quite normal and you will be able to change planes there and carry on to your Indian destination. Heathrow and Gatwick will offer more chances of direct flights though.
