I am planning a trip in December to New York from Italy, where I live. I am thinking of taking full advantage of being there and am considering a cheap flight to San Francisco/West Coast for about a week.
Could anyone suggest a cheap and reliable airline, please?

Frontier Airlines, Northwest Airlines, and United Airlines seem to have the best fares around that time. Sometimes you can find a good sale on Virgin America, too.
check www.kayak.com with your exact dates and it'll pull up most of the carriers who serve those airports.
