Cheap Flights?

Hi, my parents, ages 70 and 80 are planning to drive from Milwaukee to Birmingham, Alabama. Iam trying to get them to take a plane but they want to be frugal. Unfortunately, I'm not able to help finanially. The cheapest flight I have been able to find so far is $605 roundrip. They want to leave this Sunday (7/23) and return the following Sunday.(7/30) They might even be flexible for a day or two. If anyone knows of any cheaper flights please contact me ASAP. I'd really appreciate it!Cheap Flights?
Looking at a departure tomorrow, you are only going to be offered full fares. There is no discount this close to departure. They do have an option to drive to Chicago and fly from Midway to Birmingham non-stop on Southwest. There is only one flight left that is available and the full fare from MDW-BHM is all that is left at $172 and return the lowest internet fare is available at $121. Its $272.56 per person before taxes and for the two of them its $621.20 total. The flight departs Midway at 8:25am and that is all that is left tomorrow with availability. Right now, Southwest is the best deal for you. They can both fly for the cost it would be per person on any other airline.



The other fares for every other flight from Midway has sold out, so you will need to book ASAP. Chicago is 92 miles from Milwakee, so if the cost of gas will supplement the difference, which it should...they are both able to fly for the cost of one ticket on any other carrier. Plus these are non-stop flights.



Sunday is the most expensive day to fly along with Friday, so you arent going to find cheaper fares on these days. Secondly, you are looking at a walk up fare, so you get whats left. Hopefully this will talk them into flying rather than driving.

Driving is best - flying or bus is a chore for older people and the toilet facilities are awful and the waiting in lines is debilitating.

You can't beat driving. I always pack a large supply of Perrier or Pelegrino in the Trunk.
I checked on cheap tickets.com and I believe you may have found the best deal! Also, from previous experience you may want to go ahead and purchase them.....because as soon as you 5 mins later the price can go up....it never goes down.
