It is for 2 adults looking to fly back on the 5th August. We have heard these flights are reasonably cheap, however, have only came across the expensive ones. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you =]Does anyone happen to know a good website for cheap flights from Koh Samui to Bangkok?
Only two airlines fly to Koh Samu from Bangkok, and the price is not cheap compared to other flights around Thailand. If you want to fly direct only http://www.thaiair.com or http://wwwbangkokair.com fly direct.
If you check out www.samui.com or www.sawasdee.com and click on transport then you will get prices and timetables for flights. Only 2 airlines operate this route Thai Air and Bangkok Air - both being very expensive.
The cheapest way is to get airasia.flight to surat thani ( best to get morning flight as if you get evening flight you can only get to samui on night ferry which leaves 23.00 hrs and arrives about 05.30 hrs ) then get bus/coach to ferry terminal which are awaiting outside surat thani airport.
If you go day time you should be in Samui within 3 hrs from surat thani and the cost will be half of what it would be for direct flight - and its more fun.Does anyone happen to know a good website for cheap flights from Koh Samui to Bangkok?
There are only 2 1/2 airlines that fly that route; Bangkok Air and Thai Air fly direct from Samui to BKK; Air Asia is the 1/2 that will fly you to Bangkok but you have to 1st ferry it to Surat Thani, book with one of them direct and save the extra "travel agent' fees. Your other option is to take a 12 hour bus ride at a fraction of the cost of a plane ticket.
I wouldn't bother booking so far in advance if you are bothered about cost...there are a good many deals to be had in Samui with travel agents every 5 yards in chaweng but if you need certainty you should book now. There are few if any website cheap flights to be had on this route because of very limited competition, but hey,it's all relative,2 or 3 thousand isn't a huge amount of money is it and you will be in low season
There are only two airlines that fly this route, they are Bangkok Airways and Thai Air. I have found Bangkok Airways to be cheaper than Thai Air in most cases. Bangkok Airways tend to have promotional flights which are usually early morning flights (7am - 9am). You should be able to grab a good deal if booking in advance and if you are slightly flexible with your times.
If you have a lot of time and saving money is your priority, then consider going overland. You could save heaps! Just head into some of the travel agents on Koh Samui to compare prices and book away!
