When is the best time to book cheap flights?

I will be holidaying in Spain next July (near Malaga) along with my partner and 1 year old daughter. When would be the best time to book cheap flights? Should I just get the best deal now or wait until nearer the time. Easyjet dont seem to be booking that far in advance yet. We live in Edinburgh. Cheers. When is the best time to book cheap flights?
Travelocity (and probably some of the other low-fare websites) have a fare watcher if you register with them. It'll email you when the price of tickets between your destinations drops in price.

If you watch the prices for a little while you'll get a good idea what's normal and what's a good deal - but keep in mind sometimes you'll only get that fare for a few hours, so be ready to buy when you see the price drop.
Depending on the destination

Check the high season and low season tables

And you can get a good bargainWhen is the best time to book cheap flights?
Easyjet should be able to tell when the flights will be available for next July. You could ring them (very expensive on the phone) or you could email them, they can take up to week to reply, but at least you'll know what date they will be releasing the July flights. I get an email everytime the next lot of flights are available. The only trouble with the cheaper flights is that if for any reason you have to change the booking it will cost you more than what the flight costs at the time of the change.

You should be able to go into their website and get them to email you your preferances. If you are just looking for a great deal now could be a good time to start looking as there are some great deals around at the moment. The best time to get great deals literally depends on the weather. If it's raining, people tend to look and book their holidays. So if its a lovely sunny day this Saturday people will go out shopping etc and suddenly the prices on the Teletext and web seem to tumble.Around lunch time seem to be when the flights are lowered, they gradually go back up again by 3 pm. Another time to get a great deal is about 8 weeks before the commencement of your holiday. That can be a risk so wouldn't advise it, because if the Travel companies have had lots of bookings there won't be any bargain hol or flights. Best is to get an idea of the flight cost and keep looking. Tuesday is also another good day to check for good prices. Hope this helps.
The best time if it's a summer trip, book the flight between September and February. If it's a winter trip book the flight as early as march. Or in between April- June.
Book them in may/june. Have a nice holiday.
I fly at least twice a month all around europe and i get very very good prices when booking a couple of month before the date..... ie London/Montpellier (south of france)...,0,001 euro!! plus 29 euros taxes....
If possible book them 6 months in advance. The closer you get to your trip the more expensive they will be. As soon as your choice of Airlines starts booking, do it.
I would wait till January or February when the deals are starting to be published, now its really much too early. On the other hand if you are gamblers at heart, you might want to wait till the last minute and then hop on any good deal.
wait until around christmas when the low cost airlines announce their routes for 2007 and have them at maximum discount.
As soon as they are put up for sale
