My roommate and I are looking to visit my boyfriend while he's abroad in France. We want to go at the end of February (specifically feb 20-march1). I have checked all the major discount sites and the range is 700-800 dollars. Does anyone know where I can go to find some seriously cheap flights? We want to fly out of either nyc airport or newark and our destination is Lyon, France. We're looking to do this as cheap as possible. Please help!Any ideas on cheap flights to France?
You should be able to get the cheapest flights of the year for that travel window--because you will be outbound in cheapest part of transatlantic low season (ie, dead of winter!). Sign up for sale alerts on the route here: http://www.farecompare.com/fare-search/y鈥?/a> If you click "historical deals" on that page, it shows NYC-LYS has been on sale for $394 as recently as April, so travelling in low-season, you might expect a similar fare level for a late February departure.

A tip: search from "NYC" will show prices for JFK, Newark, and LaGuardia in the same search.
Among these sources and strategies, I think you will get the absolute best offer for NYC-Lyon during your travel window.
You might do slightly better just to Paris or Geneva, but when you consider adding train costs, the price/hassle ratio starts to tip back in favor of just flying. By the way, Delta operates a nonstop flight 4 nights a week on JFK-Lyon, so that'd be the one to go for--unless connecting was significantly cheaper with another airline having a sale, for example.
I like a lot of the sites that were mentioned. Priceline is the best, I feel. Hotwire is pretty cheap too. rightflight.org has a section listing all international travel sites, and which are the cheapest. Might be worth looking around there.Any ideas on cheap flights to France?
