You need to buy as soon as possible since you don't have much time before your trip. You should buy your ticket at least 14 days before you fly out. However summertime is more expensive so tickets will not be cheap.
As for website, start off with http://www.kayak.com. I don't know where you are going so Kayak is the best I can suggest.
Well I'll buy them now, busy travel season, plane tickets go fast, looking on delta today for tickets to Ct only 15 seats on the flight for july 13.
I like buying from Orbit they give you price assurance if another orbit customer books the same flight for cheaper they refund the cost difference. Usually they say a month in ahead is the best time to book and try flying on Wednesdays and Thursdays. but I never noticed prices going up and down before or after a certain time.When is the best time to buy cheap flights?

More towards the winter than the summer. So buy them right now! As soon as possible. And pick a cheap airline: like U.S. Air
but remember, also pick a good airline. So don't pick an airline from the United States (accept for Continental Airline)
