Can someone give me a starting point for finding cheap international flights?

I'm not even sure where to begin looking. I want the cheapest flights that I can get -- will be from the US midwest to Europe. That's as far as I have planned as of now, just looking to begin making some preparations for a trip I'll take in 3-4 years' time. If you could let me know which site you use to purchase cheap airplane tickets, that would be greatly appreciated. Can someone give me a starting point for finding cheap international flights?
Airlines have not scheduled out that far so there would not be pricing available. I suggest you start looking about 11 months before you want to fly out. You can search http://www.kayak.com and see what price a travel agent will quote you.
麓3-4 years in advance is way too long to say. I used orbitz and sidestep various times. Use Google to find similar sites and compare rates. Be flexible if you can with the dates and times (red-eye and mid-week flights are cheaper), also stay away from days before and after holidays (Christmas Eve, New year麓s eve, etc) but if you can fly ON the holiday (Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc) rates are usually cheaper and the airports are less crowded... I flew from BMI on the 4th of July one year and the airport was dead! Also sometimes it helps if you check the actual airline and book through them as opposed to the travel web page (again check and compare).

Another great airline: spiritair.com. Not sure if they fly where you want to go but I flew international Round trip from Bogot谩 Colombia to Washington DC for just $350 last year! When I had flown previously the same route, it cost me $650! Now, they are a 篓no frills篓 airline and don麓t give you free snacks or anything (you can still purchase those either in the airport or on board) but still. Can someone give me a starting point for finding cheap international flights?
Everyone wants to get best deals on international travel with cheap flights. There is an immense competition among online travel service companies that are specialized in cheap airfare tickets and cheap international flights. You should take the advantage of this and try to get the best deal.

I always find great prices on Globester. You can buy cheap flights %26amp; compare very cheap international flights with prices of different airlines.
Well, most sites don't even have schedules 4 years ahead, if even 1 year.

I would recommend signing up for emails from all the US Carriers (US Airways, Delta, United, and American). They always send emails containing fare discounts for Europe destinations.
Delta and British Airways always have the cheapest rates. You might want to check those before checking anywhere else. The service during the flight is pretty decent, considering how much you pay for them.
Look for packages, those tend to be cheaper than getting a hotel, rental, etc. all yourself. Also, they tend to have great last minute deals!
